Itinerary

Your 5-day Morocco tour from Tangier begins with a morning pickup from your hotel, port, or airport in Tangier — the cosmopolitan Gateway to Africa, where European flair meets Moroccan tradition.
Leaving the coast behind, we travel into the scenic Rif Mountains, passing rolling green hills, forested valleys, and quiet Berber villages. Along the way, we’ll pause for panoramic photo stops and enjoy the cool mountain air.
By midday, we reach the enchanting town of Chefchaouen, Morocco’s Blue Pearl. After checking in to your riad or hotel, the afternoon is yours to explore. Stroll through the winding blue-painted alleys, relax in Plaza Uta el Hammam, or hike to the Spanish Mosque for a sunset view over the medina.
It’s a peaceful and colorful start to your Moroccan journey.

Overnight: Riad or Hotel in Chefchaouen

After breakfast in Chefchaouen, we leave the blue-washed town and the Rif Mountains behind as we travel south toward Volubilis — Morocco’s most impressive Roman archaeological site and a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Here, you’ll walk through ancient streets lined with grand columns, explore mosaic-covered villas, and stand beneath towering stone arches that have endured for nearly 2,000 years — a rare glimpse into Morocco’s Roman-era past.
Next, we head to the imperial city of Meknes, known for its blend of historic charm and monumental architecture. Highlights include the ornate Bab Mansour gate, the bustling El Hedim Square, and parts of the old medina once enclosed by massive royal walls.
By late afternoon, we arrive in Fes, Morocco’s cultural and spiritual capital. After checking into your traditional riad, enjoy a relaxing evening or take a short stroll in the medina’s vibrant streets as the city prepares for nightfall.

Overnight: Riad in Fes

After breakfast in Fes, we set off on a scenic journey toward the legendary Sahara Desert, crossing a wide range of Morocco’s most stunning natural landscapes.
Our first stop is Ifrane, known as “Little Switzerland” for its alpine-style houses, manicured gardens, and fresh mountain air. From there, we continue into the cedar forests of the Middle Atlas, where you may encounter Barbary macaques in their natural habitat.
The road leads us through Midelt, a highland town surrounded by apple orchards and mountain peaks. As we descend, the landscape shifts dramatically into the breathtaking Ziz Valley, where lush palm groves wind through desert canyons dotted with traditional kasbahs.
By late afternoon, we arrive in Merzouga, the edge of the Erg Chebbi dunes. Here, your Sahara adventure begins with a camel trek across the golden sands. After settling into your luxury desert camp, enjoy a sunset over the dunes, followed by a traditional Moroccan dinner under a star-filled sky — complete with live Berber music and stories around the campfire.

Overnight: Luxury Desert Camp in Erg Chebbi
Camel Trek: Around 1 hour to camp

Rise early to witness a breathtaking Sahara Desert sunrise, as the first rays of light turn the Erg Chebbi dunes into glowing waves of gold — an unforgettable moment on your 5-day Morocco tour from Tangier. After breakfast at your luxury desert camp, return to Merzouga by camel or 4×4 and begin your journey westward.
The route crosses desert plains, scattered palm groves, and remote Berber villages before arriving at the majestic Todra Gorge. Towering limestone cliffs, reaching heights of up to 300 meters, form a narrow canyon where a cool river flows year-round. You’ll have time to walk along the base of the gorge, enjoy the fresh mountain breeze, and take in the surreal surroundings — a paradise for nature lovers and photographers.
In the afternoon, we continue toward the stunning Dades Gorge, famous for its layered red cliffs and the unusual rock formations known as the Monkey Fingers. Upon arrival, settle into your hotel or guesthouse, where you’ll enjoy dinner and a peaceful evening surrounded by the dramatic landscapes of southern Morocco.

Overnight: Hotel or Guesthouse in Dades Gorge

After breakfast in the Dades Gorge, we begin our journey along the scenic Road of a Thousand Kasbahs, passing through palm oases, mudbrick villages, and ancient fortresses.
Our first stop is Kasbah Amridil in Skoura, one of Morocco’s most iconic and bestpreserved kasbahs. Here, you’ll learn the difference between a kasbah (fortified home) and a ksar (fortified village), gaining insight into Morocco’s architectural heritage and history.
We then continue to the UNESCOlisted Ksar Ait Ben Haddou, Morocco’s most famous fortified village. This ancient site has been featured in numerous films and TV series, including GladiatorLawrence of Arabia, and Game of Thrones. You’ll have time to explore its mazelike alleys, climb to the top for panoramic views, and discover its importance along the old transSaharan trade route.
In the afternoon, we cross the majestic High Atlas Mountains via the winding Tizi n’Tichka Pass (2,260 m), with breathtaking views of valleys, peaks, and Berber villages. By evening, we arrive in Marrakech, where your 5 days Morocco tour from Tangier comes to an end.
